 Suji Steamed Balls Recipe

Semolina - 1 cup, celery - 1/4 tsp, salt as per taste, oil - 1/2 tsp, lemon juice - 1/2 tsp, sesame seeds - 1 tsp, rai - 1 tsp, turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, green chillies - 1 chopped, red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp, asafetida pinch, curry leaves - 5 to 8, oil - 1 tbsp for tempering.

Recipe

Heat water in a vessel. Add salt and oil to it. Add semolina while stirring with a spoon. Stir continuously with a spoon. Keep the flame low. The mixture will leave the edge and become like dough. Remove from heat and cover after two minutes. When the mixture is slightly lukewarm, then rub the mixture by applying smoothness in hands and make small balls.


Boil water in a deep pot. Put all the balls on it by lubricating it on a plate. The plate should be slightly smaller than the pot of water. Place the stand in a pot of water. Place a plate of balls on it. Cover it and cook on a medium flame for 10-12 minutes in the steam. Heat oil in a pan and temper the mustard seeds and sesame seeds. Add green chillies and curry leaves. Mix turmeric powder and red chili powder. Add steam balls to it. Add asafetida and lemon juice and lightly crisp them on medium flame for 2 to 4 minutes. Cover for a minute or two. Serve with green coriander on the balls.
